Job Description

Position Summary

smartShift Technologies is looking for an Associate SQL Server Database Administrator to join our Cloud Managed Services team, based out of Bangalore

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular Database administration tasks.
  • Perform High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) setup maintenance tasks
  • Handle customer service requests and alerts within specified SLA’s
  • Monitor various jobs and document exceptions
  • Ensure all servers have maximum Uptime
  • Resolve blocking and dead locks
  • Work in shifts which change on rotation

Skills & Experience:

Mandatory Skills:

  • 1 to3 years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator
  • Experience in installation of SQL Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012 and configuration of databases
  • Past experience in monitoring of CPU and tracking resource utilization
  • Experience in user management activities like creation of login credentials, roles and assigning necessary permissions
  • Past experience in database files and objects management
  • Experience in creating maintenance plans
  • Past experience in job management like creating jobs and troubleshooting jobs etc.
  • Experience in backups and restores

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge on SQL server 2014
  • Knowledge on Always on setup and Replication
  • Knowledge on Index management
  • Knowledge on Database mail
  • Knowledge on Applying Patches and hotfixes

Qualification:

  • Any graduate with 1 to 3 years of experience
  • Certification in database space is a plus
