Job Description

smartShift Technologies is looking for an Java Production Support Engineer to join our team in India.

  • Responsible for coordinating between all parties involved in the delivery of application services to the client
  • Responsible for identifying and mitigating risks to the service delivery and proactively address and resolve issues before they impact service levels
  • Proactive monitoring of application to identify issues before they impact the end users/systems
  • Work / lead periodic problem analysis meetings with all parties involved in the delivery of application services to the client
  • Follow all established processes and procedures for both development, support and maintenance work
  • Work / lead on the deployment and support of complex applications developed in-house or by third-party
  • Escalate issues to next Level of in-house & third-party development teams on complex issues or problems, in a timely manner
  • Facilitate timely and effective remediation for all issues
  • Manage and complete assigned projects to improve operational efficiency
  • Work on Release management of new versions for trading platforms
  • Will need to work across shifts and weekend based on business needs
Skills & Experience
  • Must have knowledge in standard applications like ElasticSearch and Active-MQ
  • Must have knowledge in application monitoring, change and configuration
  • Must have strong Linux command line knowledge
  • Should have knowledge in Core Java, web applications (REST), SQL databases
  • Should have good hands-on experience and handling system debugging issues as a L2 resource
  • Familiar with CI/CD build, Jenkins and deployment processes 
  • Able to use GIT, SVN and follow GIT – flow workflow
  • Understanding of Microservices design is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Redhat Openshift is a plus
  • Very good communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Should be ready to take complete ownership of issues and guide it to closure
  • BE/MCA or equivalent area
  • 4+ years of software industry experience, 3+ years’ experience as a Java Production Support Engineer
